    Responsibilities

GBSU – Global Business Service Unit, along with other service structures, is an entity which delivers high quality services for the GBIS (Global Banking Investor Solutions) of Société Générale. It is a big organization spread around the globe with a central Hub in Paris.  From a geographical point of view, GBSU covers the most important financial places: New York, London, Hong-Kong and Paris. Nearshoring and offshoring are part of the Digital New Ambition and as of today there are 3 hubs on which GBIS relies on: Bangalore, Montreal and Bucharest, the GBSU Bucharest HUB being mainly for Paris based activities, but not limited to it.

Our projects live in the pre-trade segment. The simplest way to describe our project is as a distant relative of Eureka: when trading services start, they connect to our service to get the location of other services they need.

Specifically, you will be required to:

    • On this project, we are continuing on rewritting an old application from a C# Desktop app + a Tomcat based Spring app to a Angular Web app + a Sprint Boot app.
    • Aside from just rewritting we are also looking for ways to automate/simplify our product and technical processes.
    • We use Java 17 + Spring Boot 2.7.x (REST & GraphQl as interfaces), we package with Maven+Docker, build with Jenkins and deploy on Kubernetes.
    • We pay attention to clean code, clean architecture, we’re doing code reviews, constantly work on improving documentation & CI/CD pipelines.
    • 90% of the work we’re doing is on the greenfield project, 10% is on maintaining the legacy one.

    Profile required

    • Strong knowledge in Java-Spring ecosystem (Java 8+, Spring Boot 2)
    • Hands-on experience with Typescript and Angular
    • Knowledge of relational database, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA/Hibernate)
    • Web experience with REST & GraphQL
    • Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis, ELK
